Food Systems and Pesticide Reform

Monterey Bay area is the top produce provider in the United States. Each year, 9 million pounds of pesticides are applied in the Monterey Bay bioregion, causing childhood asthma and neurological issues, some of the highest cancer rates in the state, birth defects in marine mammals, and mass die-offs of monarch butterflies.
